Apio is an inclusive microblogging system - comprising a mobile app and a device concept - designed to empower visually impaired individuals to engage with social media independently. Created by a multidisciplinary team, Apio blends user-centric research with accessible design and technology to foster connection and self-expression.

Goals

Approach

Through interviews, putting together personas and empathy map, we refined our problem statement - HOW MIGHT WE look at technological and systemic interventions to help establish a platform to connect visually impaired individuals.

Deliverables

We designed a voice-assisted app and a concept device with inclusive and accessible UI. We explored usability through mock-ups, form studies and renders.
